Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Android app GeoMeter: Land Area Measure (the "App"), published on Google Play by the developer Doston ("we", "us"), accesses, collects, uses, stores and shares information when you use the App. It applies only to this App and to this website.

1. Information the App accesses or collects

Data	When	Purpose
Precise and approximate location (GPS)	Only after you grant location permission and while you measure. When you walk a boundary, a foreground service with a visible notification keeps recording points while the screen is off.	To place points on the map and calculate land area, perimeter and distance. Your live location is processed on your device and is not sent to us; only the points of the measurements you save are backed up (see "Cloud backup").
Saved measurements (name, points/coordinates, area, distance, measurement type, dates)	When you save, edit or delete a measurement.	Stored on your device and backed up to Cloud Firestore so they are not lost and can be restored (see "Cloud backup").
Anonymous identifier	Created automatically by Firebase Authentication the first time the App starts.	To keep your backed-up measurements separate from other users'. It does not contain your name, email or phone number.
Google account details (email address, account identifier)	Only if you choose "Back up with Google" in Settings.	To link your backup to your Google account and restore your measurements on another device.
Support messages (the text you write, and the name and phone number if you choose to enter them)	Only when you contact us through the in-app support chat.	To answer your question and keep the conversation history.
Device and app information (device brand and model, Android version, app version, Android device ID, push notification token)	Sent together with support chat messages.	To identify your conversation, diagnose problems and notify you when we reply.
App usage and diagnostics (app interactions such as screens opened and features used, chosen settings such as language, theme and unit, crash logs, performance data, app instance identifiers)	Automatically while you use the App.	To understand which features are used, fix crashes and improve the App.

The App does not collect your contacts, photos, files, messages, microphone or camera data. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising, and the App does not show ads.

2. Third-party services

The App uses the following services provided by Google, which process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms:

• Google Maps SDK for Android – map display (Google Privacy Policy)
• Google Play services Location – GPS location
• Firebase Authentication and Google Sign-In / Credential Manager – anonymous identifier for backup and optional sign-in with Google
• Cloud Firestore – storage of backed-up measurements and support chat messages
• Google Analytics for Firebase – usage statistics
• Firebase Crashlytics – crash reports
• Firebase Cloud Messaging, Firebase In-App Messaging, Firebase Remote Config and Firebase A/B Testing – notifications, in-app announcements, configuration and testing of app improvements

See Privacy and Security in Firebase for details. Apart from these service providers, we do not share your data with third parties, unless required by law.

3. Cloud backup

Your saved measurements are backed up automatically to Cloud Firestore under the anonymous identifier of your App installation, so they are not lost if something goes wrong on the device. If you sign in with Google in Settings, the backup is linked to your Google account and can be restored and synced on your other devices. Each identifier or account can access only its own data. If you sign out, a new anonymous identifier is used on that device.

The backup is used only to store, sync and restore your measurements and to provide support. It is not used for advertising and is not shared with third parties.

4. Data security

All data sent by the App is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Access to stored data is restricted by security rules and limited to the developer for support purposes.

5. Data retention and deletion

• Measurements stored on your device are deleted when you delete them in the App or uninstall the App.
• Backed-up measurements, your account and your support chat history are kept until you ask us to delete them. Uninstalling the App does not delete the backup.
• Analytics and crash data are kept by Google for a limited period (analytics data up to 14 months, crash data up to 90 days).

To delete your account, your backup or your support chat history, follow the steps on the Delete account and data page or email support@geometer.uz with the subject "GeoMeter data deletion". We will delete the data within 30 days.

6. Your choices

• You can deny or revoke the location permission in Android settings; measuring by GPS will then not be possible, but you can still place points on the map manually.
• You can disable notifications in Android settings.
• You do not have to sign in with Google or use the support chat to use the App.
• If you do not want your measurements to be kept in the cloud backup, contact us and we will delete them.

7. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. This website

geometer.uz is a static website. It does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Your theme and language choice are saved only in your browser's local storage.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes are posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
